Throughout the first quarter of 2022, the top social apps in the Middle East displayed significant trends in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at the performance of TikTok, Bigo Live - Live Streaming App, Likee - Short Video Community, Tango- Live Stream, Video Chat, and Chamet - Live Video Chat.

TikTok experienced a consistent increase in weekly revenue, starting from approximately $3M at the end of December and peaking at around $3.6M in the final week of March. Weekly downloads saw a peak of 446K in early February, with a slight decline to 385K by the end of March. Active users showed a slight fluctuation, peaking at 28.8M in late February before settling at 27.7M by the end of March.

Bigo Live - Live Streaming App also showed a positive trend in revenue, starting at $626K at the end of December and reaching $780K by the end of February, before a slight dip to $635K in late March. Downloads remained fairly stable, with a peak of 92K in early February and ending the quarter at 75K. Active users hovered around 1M throughout the quarter, with minor fluctuations.

Likee - Short Video Community saw a notable surge in revenue, beginning at $239K at the end of December and skyrocketing to $634K in the last week of March. Downloads remained steady, with a peak of 110K in mid-March, ending the quarter slightly lower at 100K. Active users saw a slight increase, peaking at 1.86M in March before a minor decline to 1.84M by the end of the quarter.

Tango- Live Stream, Video Chat had a stable revenue trend, starting at $426K in late December, peaking at $510K in late February, and closing the quarter at $419K. Downloads were consistent but showed a slight decline, ending the quarter at 24K. Active users remained relatively stable, peaking at 583K in late February and ending at 544K.

Chamet - Live Video Chat showed an increase in revenue, starting at $155K at the end of December and reaching $176K in mid-March, before ending at $168K. Downloads remained relatively low but saw a peak of 13K in late March. Active users showed a gradual increase, starting at 59K in late December and reaching 71K by the end of March.
